I’ve started messing around with photographing the night sky. I severely under-estimated the complexity of shooting stars. Hah. See what I did there?
Anyway, night photography is a lot more complicated than just setting exposure times. ISO and aperture settings are crucial and can vary depending on what type of detail you want. For especially crisp images, you have to balance having a short exposure time with having a high enough ISO to capture all the light you can as quickly as possible. I am certainly no expert on this, but there are quite a few good blogs out there on the subject. I hope to continue experimenting with this.
